Hab mir ein paar Bilder und Videos angeguckt und immer wieder wird darauf hingewiesen, dass man sich auf jackassworld.com registrieren soll, weil MTV sonst nicht mehr die offizielle Jackass-Seite finanzieren will.

"Ok everybody,this is serious. i figure since we are a community here at jackassworld,i can and will talk to you about this.let me get straight to it.mtv is going to pull financing out of this website very soon if we can't get more people signed up.it sounds unbelievable ,it sounded unbelievable to me,i mean its only been 4 months!!!!! but this is no bullshit.
Its actually a little more complicated than that,but to cut to the nitty gritty we need your help in getting the word out there about jackassworld.if i could be so bold i would like to start a real grassroots campaign in the community to get people signed up .email your friends and friends' friends and get them to join jackassworld.forward any funny pictures,videos,etc to them and tell them to come be a part of jackassworld.you can say i am the one who asked you to do it.
We are having a real ball here at jackassworld,and don't want it to end.we hope you feel the same way. help us in our quest to get the word out about jackassworld by any means necessary.and when i say by any means necesarry ,i mean by any positive ,creative, and funny means necessary.don't do anything stupid.thats our job.heh heh...thank you,sincerely,and love, johnny knoxville"

Ich kann es nicht fassen: Jackass schreibt bei MTV Erfolgsgeschichte! Und dann hat MTV plötzlich nicht mehr die 3,50 €, um eine Homepage zu finanzieren? Ich fass es nicht!

Die schauen halt auf ihr Budget und sehen, dass auf dieser Seite so gut wie nichts los ist (traurig, aber wahr). Die Kino- bzw. DVD-Verkäufe waren (wenn man nicht total verrückte Kunden hat) einmalig und der Aufwand für eine Seite in 15 Sprachen (ohne Werbung!) ist anscheinend zu groß. Die Community ist ja schon der beste Beweis - da habe ja ich als einzelner User in einem anderen Forum mehr Beiträge als dort das gesamte (zugegebenermaßen auch ziemlich unübersichtlich und unprofessionell wirkende) Board.
Leider muss man es akzeptieren: MTV hat sich mit Ausnahme von Kinofilmen von Jackass & Co verabschiedet und hat andere Mittel gefunden, mit denen sich nun Geld verdienen lässt. Dass das immer wieder irgendwelche Proletenshows, in denen irgendein Möchtegern-Promi sich aus 500 gecasteten Schauspielern irgendeinen aussucht, so erfolgreich sind liegt leider nicht in unseren Händen.
